La Malouinière was built in 1721 by the Nouail de La Ville Gilles family. Lined by 250 metres of tall acacias, an enchanting pathway leads you to the entrance of the castle, beginning with a French courtyard in the middle of which stands a chapel built by Pierre-François Nouail du Fougeray.
The Nouail de La Ville Gilles family worked in linen trading with the West Indies.
In 1997 Nicolas Blin became the owner of the castle, transforming it into a venue for weddings, receptions and parties. In 2017, La Malouinière was again transformed into a luxury bed and breakfast.
La Malouinière overlooks an enchanting park measuring 2 hectares. It offers the perfect setting for peace, quiet and comfort.
Visit us to discover our arbour and its wisteria! You can also lounge around the park in our comfortable deckchairs.
A haven of tranquility hosts pairs of ducks and three pairs of rabbits. We are waiting for the cubs of a cane and three rabbits.
THE COMMON ROOM / POOL TABLE
The common room has a traditional fireplace on the ground floor, including a library (with books and information about the region), and a pool table.
Breakfast is served in buffet, in a room overlooking the park, or if the weather is nice, outside. We offer french pastries, regional products (Bordier's cheese, butter and yoghurt), and also home-made pastries (such as pralin, marmelade, cakes, financiers, crèmes brulées, etc...). Seasonal fruits, or from our garden, will also complet your breakfast.
